Small Successful Business Ideas

Having been into online marketing in one form or another for the past 9 years I’ve learned a little about what you’ll need. I’ve also learned a little (a lot) about wasting time and money. Money is one thing and none of us can afford to waste it but it’s time that really counts when working from home. The less of it you waste the further ahead you’ll be each day. Right now I spend two hours a night online working and every second counts.

Here are the essentials of a home based business. I’ll go into each in detail in later lessons.
1. A product or better said an opportunity that you can make money with and is a real product.

“A real product“, something that is tangible either a physical product or a product that saves people money. There are far to many scams as I call them on the Internet that the only thing a person gets is some business opportunity. These programs focus on making money only and the product whether real or make believe is a byproduct of the making money part. I suggest staying away from those who push their business opportunity first and the product itself is second or rarely mentioned.

There are other factors an opportunity must be in line with to be good, start up cost (they all cost some money), a support line, training, and business tools. These we’ll cover later as they really are in depth.

2. People, yes you will need people in order to show them your product. No people no purchase, no purchase no business. It’s that simple, people need to see what you have to offer.

Most MLM’s ets. want you to make a Cold List, Hot List, Warm market and so on Then they want you to approach your family and friends first, write down everyone you know and approach this list second. The flaw in this is those people may not be interested in starting a business and you don’t want to alienate your family in friends while trying to get them to do something they don’t want to do.

So what type of people do you need? Those who can use your product and those who want to start a business. People will want one and not the other while some will want both. They key is knowing where to find the people you need to grow your business. I’ll get into several sources later. For now keep in mind you will need people to build a business.

3. A system. You need a system that will build your business in both product sales and opportunity seekers. This is where time comes in. Without a proven system you will waste to much time doing the wrong things. Systems are great but they need to be the right ones.

4. Goals, or better said a business plan. You need to know what you’re doing and why. Although this is the last item on this short list it by no means is less important. Setting goals and then making plans to reach them is very important. It helps you stay in focus and to discover what is working and what is not.
